Welcome to our monthly update for Chroma Arcana. We're nearing the date for locking orders, so this update is an important one!
Locking Orders
1,395 of you have completed your survey - that's 90% of all backers!
We are planning to lock all orders at the end of October, so if you haven't secured your copy of Chroma Arcana yet, head to BackerKit to do so now!
If you're having trouble accessing your survey, check your email for the subject "Roc Nest Games", or contact us and we will help!
Art Pledge Polls
Last month, we opened the poll for Ver Fadul and Nadine Jakubowski's art prints, and we have two clear winners: Drain Essence and Final Encore!
The final poll is available, covering the art done by Kim Diaz Holm - the five Tyrants featuring in the expansion, Tyrant Hunt!

Rulebooks
Both rulebooks are almost ready for print -- check out the sneak preview below!
If you spot any errors (especially typos!) in the rules, please reach out to us in our Discord server!
Deck Boxes
Those who read our rules might notice the mention of deck boxes! Our original £30,000 stretch goal was to provide a printed box inlay, but this has evolved into printed cardboard deck boxes. These will help organise your Chroma Arcana colours, and we think it's a great improvement!
More information on this will be available in next month's update.
Indie Spotlight
Trash Dash, the Chaotic Critter Racing Board Game, has been up for a day and it's already reached 50% funded!
The fun artwork drew us in initially, but the gameplay has kept our attention. Parker (the designer) has been making waves in the Board Game community with his work, and we really want to see him succeed!

Welcome to our monthly update for Chroma Arcana. Without further ado, let's dive straight in:
New Polls for Art Prints
Last month we opened the poll for Sansiia's art prints, and we're pleased to see that the community has come to a decision! It looks like Obliterate is going to be the first of the four art prints!
We have made two new Board Game Geek threads to cover the art done by Ver Fadul and Nadine Jakubowski, so please take the time to vote on each by clicking on the following links:

Iconography Update
With some help from our friends (Richard of Card Noir and Andrew of Eerie Idol Games), we have put the final touches on our iconography. Here is a sneak peek of the new symbols for the colours:
CMYK Update
The cards, player boards, playmats, and cheat sheets are all CMYK-ready for printing! We still need to finish converting the rulebook and boxes into the correct format, but once that's done, we will be ready for the final print-proofing step. Exciting!
Demo Prototypes
We have just requested the next batch of card and player board prototypes and they should be arriving soon. Once they do, we will check for any necessary changes and then get the next prototype from our manufacturer.
Indie Spotlight
Recently we discovered a TTRPG called ION Heart. It's a cute lo-fi solo (or 2-player) game in which you control a mech pilot and their best friend (the mech!).
We are super excited to play this game, and it's coming up to its final 24 hours, so you should definitely take a look!

Chroma Arcana - July Update

Greetings fellow mages!
Welcome to our monthly update for Chroma Arcana. July has been quite busy, and we've focussed on several exciting developments:
Print Proofing
This past month has been all about finalising our card designs and iconography. Thanks to the fantastic feedback from you, and with the help of fellow mages in our Discord community, we have our cards ready for CMYK printing.
Next up, we're converting the rulebook and player mats into a CMYK-ready state during this month. This includes final designs for the neoprene playmat - exciting!.
Once all the files are CMYK ready, we will be able to get our final prototypes from the manufacturers. This is a very big deal!
Art Prints - Voting for Sansiia's piece
For the 4x art prints included in the base game box, we intend to include one per artist. Now, you can vote on your favourite piece by Sansiia, who created our Chromatic and Red cards.
Head over to the Board Game Geek thread and place your vote on which piece you want to see in the box!
Pledge Manager
Don't forget to fill in your Pledge Manager survey!
Almost 90% of you have now completed yours, including those who secured a late pledge.
While you have a bit of time left to complete your surveys, it's very useful for us to know how many copies to plan for, so please fill them in as soon as possible.
Indie Spotlight
We met the designer of Deep Regrets last month at UKGE and were very impressed with the game. It has exploded in popularity, with over 8,000 backers at the time of writing, and we're thrilled to see that level of success for him.
How many of you have already backed it? If you haven't already, it's well worth looking into!

Chroma Arcana - June Update

Welcome to our third instalment of updates for Chroma Arcana.
Pledge Manager Statistics
If you haven't completed your Pledge Manager survey yet, please do so soon!
An astounding 87% of you have already completed it, raising a further £36,000 ($45,000)! That means we are waiting for less than 200 people to finish their surveys.
Our most popular add-on has been the Transparent Card Sleeves, with 33% of our backers wanting to protect their Chroma Arcana cards.
A further 86 people who missed the initial Kickstarter campaign have grabbed themselves a late pledge!

UKGE 2024
Thank you for the overwhelming support we received at UKGE! So many of you came to visit the stall and play a game of Chroma Arcana, and it was a real pleasure to meet you! Over the course of the three days, over 100 people played Chroma Arcana.
Massive thanks to Khalid, Jordan, and Wren, who helped us run games and were an integral part of the success of the stall over the weekend!
Rulebook (Final Tweaks)
A weekend of playtesting and teaching the game at UKGE has taught us a few ways we can streamline the rulebook, so we have been working on some final modifications to its presentation and content.
We have a draft of the most up-to-date version, and we welcome any comments or critiques - feel free to send us a message on Kickstarter, on our socials, or on our Discord!
Indie Spotlight
While we didn't get much time to visit other stalls at UKGE, we did find Escape the Rat Race, and we fell in love with its hand-drawn illustrations. It's got less than 24 hours left before the end of its Kickstarter, so if you're interested in a fast-paced game that can be played over a lunchbreak, take a look!

We'll be making the final files print-ready over the course of the next month - there are about 150 card files to get the game ready for print, so we're going to be very busy!

Welcome to another exciting instalment of updates! A lot has been happening, and we're gearing up for some big events...
Pledge Manager Launched!
We sent out the Pledge Manager notification via email less than an hour ago, and 20% of you have already responded! That is lightning fast!
If you can, please complete the survey in a timely fashion! The sooner we have everyone's orders, the sooner we can start manufacturing Chroma Arcana!

If you missed the Chroma Arcana Kickstarter, have no fear! You can click here to get access to our Late Pledge store, where you can buy the game!
Transparent Sleeves Stretch Goal
Some of you will have noticed a new add-on item in the Pledge Manager - transparent sleeves! Despite not reaching the stretch goal during the Kickstarter funding, we know these were the most-requested item. This add-on contains enough sleeves to cover every single card in both Chroma Arcana and Tyrant Hunt, plus the exclusive cards, with some extras!
If you want them, please add them to your order! You will only be charged for them if at least 200 people order them on BackerKit.
UK Games Expo - Stand 1-383
As you may know, we will be attending UKGE this year! The event is in Birmingham UK, and runs between 31st May - 2nd June. We will be bringing Chroma Arcana and Tyrant Hunt, so please stop by if you would like to play the game in person!
As an added bonus, we will also be bringing a mystery game that we have been developing recently... but to find out more about that, you'll have to come see us!
Indie Spotlight - Beyond the Event Horizon
With only 8 days left, Beyond the Event Horizon needs your help to get funded! I've been playtesting this recently, and it feels like a very fast 4X game! It has a strong focus on customised fleets and skirmishes, and plenty of chances to crush your former friends as you each vie for the most victory points!
