Chroma Arcana - April Update

Greetings fellow mages!

It's been about a month since Chroma Arcana was funded, and lots of exciting things have happened since we last spoke. Going forward, we intend to keep you updated on the project development in monthly updates, like these.

Pledge Manager

We're in the final stages of sorting out the Pledge Manager on BackerKit, and it's going to launch a little earlier than we initially predicted. It should be ready by the end of April or the beginning of May. When it's live, we'll send out a Kickstarter update so you can access it!

Stretch Goals

While we reached most of our stretch goals, we didn't achieve all of the art prints goals nor did we reach the goal for the card sleeves. We're currently in talks with our manufacturer to see what we can do about this, as these were our most requested additions while the campaign was in progress. We should have an answer for whether we can include them or not by the time the Pledge Manager launches.

UK Games Expo - Stand 1-383

We're excited to announce that we'll have a stand at UKGE in Birmingham this year! You can expect some more information about this in next month's update.

Indie Spotlights - RPG Stories VTT Expansion & Cloud Foxes

Our friends over at Brave Alice Games have just launched the next instalment to their RPG Stories world building project - the Wrath of Devs! It introduces exciting new features and stunning 3D models, catering to both seasoned users of RPG Stories VTT and welcoming newcomers with exclusive offers.

Additionally, at last year's UKGE, we discovered Cloud Foxes and were very impressed with it. They've just launched on Kickstarter, and we wanted to give them a big shout-out. We played it there and have been following along with it since!

FUNDING OVER - Final Statistics

First off, we'd like to thank each and every backer that has helped Chroma Arcana cross the finish-line (and then doing 7 more victory laps afterwards).

You're all amazing; from the 149 backers that just want access to our Pledge Manager, to the 2 backers that wanted to get their hands on Kim Diaz Holm's original art pieces!

Statistics for the Statistics Nerds!

Our first backer was from Florida USA, howdy!

We funded in 35 minutes. For a first-time campaign, that is phenomenal!

We closed at 832% funded with 1,545 backers and £66,606 raised!

A whopping 148 backers had never used Kickstarter before! Welcome - we're glad Chroma Arcana is your first!

The fantastic video by Kagan Productions was played 3,113 times! If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to - it's unmissable!

24% of our pre-Kickstarter followers backed us. To put that in perspective, the average successful Kickstarter has a conversion rate of 10%! That means we have a very loyal fan-base!

38% of backers want to slay a Tyrant, with the Solo/Co-Op pledge being our most backed reward.

... and our last backer was from Germany! Besten Dank!

What's Next?

Like the third Tyrant, the Great Devourer, we're going to hibernate for a week - who knew running a Kickstarter campaign would be so exhausting? Expect one more update from us this month (Tyrant Hunters #4), and then we will switch to monthly updates to avoid overwhelming you!

Tyrant Hunters #3 - Double Feature (the Endless Hunger & the Shade Empress)

The Devourer, Endless Hunger

The tunnels where the Devourer dwells are thick with the stench of the slumbering horror. In her lair, a hundred pulsing sacs of grotesque flesh lie in wait, each filled with a rancid black ichor, housing her soon-to-hatch children.

When the time comes, the eggs tear open and the Devourer's brood ascend to the mortal realm above. For a year and a day, they feast upon the innocent and consume entire towns within a matter of weeks. Finally, their mother rises from the caverns and hunts them down to gorge on their bodies, absorbing the nutrients they gathered from their time in the lands. Once she has become bloated with her unholy feast, she returns to the caves below to spew out a hundred fresh eggs in preparation for the cycle to continue.

The Devourer is soon to rise, and it is up to you to stop her and her children. Gather your party, prepare your spells, and venture forth into her cavernous lair to claim victory against the third Tyrant!

The Trapper

From a young age, the Trapper was told stories about the great stalking monstrosity that was known as the Devourer. Now, having mastered the art of magic, they are ready to try to snare the largest prey of them all! With an unmatched expertise in Ward spells, they are a worthy addition to any Tyrant-hunting party.

Nyxara, the Shade Empress

The Sycorax are an ancient people, timeless and immortal, who have a symbiotic connection to the environment around them. Some few, however, turn their backs on their homes and their people, attaching themselves to darker places.

Nyxara is one such fallen Sycorax. While the origins of her corruption are not known, it is fact that Nyxara wishes to plunge the whole realm into darkness and make it a place for her to stalk and hunt her prey.

As the days grow shorter, it's time to hunt down Nyxara. Gather your party, prepare your spells, and venture forth into her shadowy forest to claim victory against the fourth Tyrant!

The Druid

As their forest becomes overrun with Nyxara's long shadow, the Druid prepares to fight back against the darkness that threatens to kill all life within. As a powerful summoner, the Druid is able to weaken the Tyrant's attacks by exerting mastery over their own minions, making them the perfect protector for any Tyrant-hunting party.

Next Update

With only a few days left of the Kickstarter campaign, we're hoping for one final push to smash a few more of our stretch goals so we can showcase even more of the artwork!

We only have one more instalment of Tyrant Hunters to go, which will introduce Coatl, the final Tyrant, along with the Berserker Ego. Stay tuned!

Greetings fellow mages! We've had a busy few days, so this update is full of content!

Tyrant Hunt Solo Setup

We've just recorded a quick video showcasing the simple setup for the solo mode of Tyrant Hunt! Next up, we'll record a second video to demonstrate the Tyrant's turns.

First New Stretch Goal Reached!

Thanks to over 1,100 backers, we've reached 625% funded, unlocking the first of our artwork stretch goals! A digital artbook will be created to celebrate our talented artists. It will feature our favourite pieces, along with insights by them into the art creation process.

Our next stretch goal, at 750% funded, will introduce the first of four art prints. These will be included in every core game box as a token of our gratitude for your loyal support, and they will be chosen by you!

Tyrant Hunters #2 - The Vampire and the Spawn

Lord Yaenael, the Vampire

With an aura of malice and power, the Vampire Yaenael is a formidable foe. His gaze, like stars in the night sky, demands fealty from those who dare look upon him. Beware, hunters, for within his stare lies an ancient and cunning darkness, born from centuries of existence.

He resides on his throne in the broken remains of the Celestial City, Nova Polaris. Gather your party, prepare your spells, and venture forth into his shattered realm to claim victory against the second Tyrant!

The Spawn

Once loyal to Yaenael, the Spawn has broken free of the Vampire's dark curse and seeks to free the world, and themselves, from this tyrannical overlord. They can drain the sands of time that sustain their minions in order to power any spell, ensuring that the Spawn is a useful addition to any party.
